Frontier FS
Cooperative is the result of a consolidation between Danco Prairie
FS Cooperative (formed in 1929) and Jefferson County Farmco (formed
in 1945). In December 2004, Frontier FS Cooperative took over the
management of Marshfield Service Center, Rozellville Service Center,
Wautoma Service Center, and the Junction City Petroleum Bulk Plant
for FS Cooperative at Amherst Junction.
Frontier FS Cooperative has a long history through its predecessor
companies as farm supply cooperatives serving farmer patrons in
south central Wisconsin and are the only Farm Bureau affiliated
cooperative in the territory.

become the "Natural Resource" in our area for all related
services.

Frontier FS
Cooperative has facilities in Dane, Columbia, Sauk, Green, Rock,
Iowa, Lafayette, Dodge, Jefferson, Southern Washington, and Waukesha
counties. We have more than 70 full-time employees and an
annual sales volume of over $55 million. Our philosophy is to become a
partner in our patrons’ operations and help them achieve their goals
and improve profitability.

Our History
In December 1928,
Dane County Farm Bureau Cooperative Warehouse Association was
organized in Madison Wisconsin. The name changed to Dane County
Co-op Farm Supply Company in 1937.
In 1964,
Dane County Farmco Service Cooperative, which handled petroleum,
and Dane County Co-op Farm Supply, which handled farm supplies,
merged and incorporated under the name of Dane County Farmco
Cooperative.
In 1965,
the cooperative joined FS Services, Inc
In 1975,
the name changed again to Dan-Co FS Cooperative to indicate a
presence in both Dane and Columbia counties.
In 1982,
Dan-Co merged with Green Prairie FS Cooperative of Sauk county,
and the name changed to Danco FS Cooperative.
In April of
1997, the majority of the assets of Green-Rock FS Cooperative
were purchased.
In September of 2000, Agri-Tech FS
Cooperative, serving Iowa and Lafayette counties, was purchased,
enabling Danco FS Cooperative to expand its territory
to that which exists today.
In August, 2003, Danco FS Cooperative and Jefferson County
Farmco
consolidated to form Frontier FS Cooperative.
In December 2004, Frontier
FS Cooperative took over the management of Marshfield Service
Center, Rozellville Service Center, Wautoma Service Center and
the Junction City Petroleum Bulk Plant from FS Cooperative.
2005 -
Purchased facilities in Marshfield, Rozellville and
Wautoma previously managed by FS
Cooperative.
2006 - Purchased Klink Oil
Company in Watertown and the Simonson Oil
Company in Fort Atkinson.
2006 -
Conducted a major grain expansion at our Ixonia facility.
