Nutrient Management Update Cost Sharing Programs Available
Nutrient Management is an issue that concerns all farmers no matter how large or small the operation! Luckily there have been a few counties that have recognized the importance and the economical burden a Nutrient Management Plan can have on your operation. Many counties have developed various cost-sharing programs and will be offering multiple training classes for Nutrient Management this summer and coming fall. Dates for the training have not been released yet. However, Dane and Columbia counties have announced that they will have cost-sharing programs available. For Dane county the sign up for the program will be July 3 – July 28, and the Columbia county sign up is now taking place for Nutrient Management Plans to be written for this fall. Each county has different guidelines and may have other programs that could assist you in Nutrient Management so it is important to contact your local county Land Conservationist for more detail.
